Traffic stop by Sarnia police leads to drug bust

Sarnia police seized several illicit drugs during an evening traffic stop on Saturday.

The incident happened on Campbell Street in the city's southwest end.

Police pulled over a white S.U.V. and say they discovered multiple bags containing fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine. A wad of cash also seems to have been seized by police.

This traffic stop turned drug bust is "more proof that there is no such thing as a "routine" traffic stop," according to Sarnia Police Chief Derek Davis. "These are high-risk activities that [Sarnia police] officers perform every day to keep our roads and communities safe."

Police did not provide any details regarding possible charges.
