Aberarder Central School closed due to outage

Students at Aberarder Central School were dismissed early on Friday due to a power outage in the area.

School buses were cancelled due to inclement weather and road conditions. The school is contacting parents or guardians of any students in attendance.

According to Hydro One's outage map, there were around 1,800 customers without power in the Aberarder, Camlachie, Forest and Highland Glen areas. Minor outages were also reported near Marthaville and Edys Mills.

It is expected that Aberarder Central School will be open to students on Tuesday, February 21. Due to the temporary power outage, the phone lines at the school are were unavailable.

If parents or guardians need to contact the school, they're asked to reach out to the Lambton Kent District School Board at 519-336-1500.
