Sarnia Sting lose 4-3 in overtime to London Knights

The Sarnia Sting fell to the London Knights 4-3 in overtime Saturday night.

"I felt we had pretty good control of that game," said Head Coach Alan Letang. "I think the disappointment of losing that point is big for us but if it was a playoff game it would be crushing."

The Sting had a three-goal lead in the third period but couldn't protect it.

The knights scored three goals and forced the game into overtime. Ryan Winterton scored the winning goal.

"When two good teams play together, it's who comes up with that play at the right moment," said Letang.

The Sting did all of their scorings during the first period.

Christin Kyrou scored first during a power play which was followed up by Sandis Vilmanis.

Zach Filak got a rebound goal at 15:36 for the three-goal advantage.

Sarnia is back in action Monday for a home game against the Flint Firebirds.  The game can be heard on CHOK (103.9 FM/1070 AM) starting at 1:30 p.m.

Puck drop is set for 2:05 p.m.
