New season, new round of recreation programs

New lessons are being added to a wide range of spring-summer recreation programs within Sarnia.

The City of Sarnia said registration for spring-summer recreation programming at the Strangway Community Centre opened on Wednesday.

The session will operate from April 3 until September 1.

Superintendent of Recreation Shelley Kern said new programs include golf lessons, reflexology, flow yoga, and line dancing for beginners.

"There are lots of different program choices. It's for adults 20 years of age and older," she said.

Program options range from fitness and wellness courses, art and music, and organized outdoor sports.

Kern said the number of registrations appears to increase each season.

"People are ready to come back, try new activities, and most importantly connect with each other and have that social connection," she said. "We expect a huge response to the registration and the programs."

Registration will remain open until a program is full. Kern said drop-in programs will also be available.

Further details can be found on the city's recreation registration portal or by calling 519-332-0330 ext. 3131. Residents can also stop by the Strangway Centre Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
