Sarnia woman charged after police seize $43K worth of drugs

Sarnia police say a woman is facing charges after officers seized over $43,000 worth of drugs Tuesday night.

The suspect, who was being investigated for alleged drug trafficking, was spotted allegedly making suspected drug deals from a vehicle before 8:45 p.m. Vice Unit officers conducted a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle near Highway 40 and Lasalle Line.

The accused was taken into custody and searched. Police located over 250 grams of cocaine, over 250 grams of methamphetamine, 10 oxycodone pills, and $525 in cash.

The suspect is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of schedule I substance, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failing to comply with a probation order.

She was being held pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
