Sarnia Sting fall 5-4 to Guelph

The Sarnia Sting just couldn't pull off a third straight win against the Guelph Storm Thursday night.

The Sting fell behind by two goals early in the game and trailed behind for a 5-4 loss to the Storm at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph.

Despite Thursday's loss, the Sting still have a 3-1 series lead in the OHL Western Conference quarter-final.

The Storm took an early 2-0 lead.

Valentin Zhugin scored on a 4-on-1 rush and ex-Sting forward Max Namestnikov followed that up by knocking in a rebound.

The Sting's Easton Wainwright scored 39 seconds after Namestnikov's goal.

The Storm's lead grew to 4-1 in the second period.

Cooper Way and Tyson Doucette each potted their first career playoff goal.

Brenden Anderson also scored.

The team will try again to win again Friday night when they host Game 5 at Progressive Auto Sales Arena - coverage on CHOK (103.9 FM/1070 AM) begins at 6:30 p.m.

Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
