LPH seeks dog, owner after biting incident

Lambton Public Health (LPH) is looking for more information about a dog and its owner after an 11-year-old child was bitten by a dog on April 10.

The health unit said it happened at around 11 a.m. near High Park Public School on Kember Avenue.

The child had reportedly asked the owner for permission before petting the animal.

The dog is described as a medium-sized, black and white, pitbull-terrier mix. It was being walked on a leash by a woman in her 70s with white hair.

If the dog is not located and the health status of the animal verified, the victim will need to receive post exposure rabies shots.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lambton Public Health at 519-383-8331 ext. 3601 or toll-free 1-800-667-1839.
