Local music festival marks 92 years

The annual Lambton County music festival kicked off Monday.

The event, celebrating 92 years, is the longest independently run competitive music festival in the country.

In the past, over 400 area students took part.

Vocal performances are being held at Dunlop United Church on Rosedale Avenue and piano concerts are being held at St. Giles Presbyterian Church on Lakeshore Road and at the Sarnia Public Library Auditorium Monday through Wednesday.

Next week, St. Giles Presbyterian Church and Great Lakes Secondary School will host strings and instrumental, concert and jazz band performances.

The Stars of the Festival Concert is set for Tuesday, May 16 at Great Lakes Secondary School.
