Man arrested after booze containers tossed from vehicle

A 59-year-old Petrolia man is accused of throwing liquor containers from a vehicle after running a stop sign at Marthaville Road and Lasalle Line.

Lambton OPP said they pulled over the vehicle at around 1:30 p.m. on April 23.

Police said the driver appeared to be impaired, and officers conducted a roadside screening.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a vehicle and taken to a Lambton OPP detachment, where he allegedly provided two samples over the legal limit.

He is charged with operation while impaired, with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus, and disobeying a stop sign under the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
