Health unit seeks small dog that bit child

Lambton Public Health is looking for information about a small dog and its owner after a three-year-old child was bitten while at a park in Corunna.

The health unit said the incident happened at a park on Lyndoch Street and Cameron Street, at around 9:30 a.m. on Monday.

The dog is described as being white with brown spots and resembles a Jack Russell Terrier. The health unit also said the dog was being walked by an older man with white hair.

A parent of the child did not get contact information for the owner. If the dog's health status is not verified, the young child will need to receive post-exposure rabies shots.

Anyone with information about the dog and its owner is asked to contact Lambton Public Health at 519-383-8331 ext. 3533 or toll-free at 1-800-667-1839.
