Alleged impaired driver hits parked dump truck

One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries in a crash early Friday morning.

Sarnia police said a car slammed into a parked dump truck just before 2:30 a.m. on Queen Street.

Responding officers formed grounds to arrest the 27-year-old driver for impaired driving.

Police said while the accused was at the hospital, breath samples taken by police alleged them to be about three times the legal limit.

The driver now faces one count of impaired operation of a vehicle, and one count of having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

Sarnia Fire and Rescue and Lambton EMS also responded to the crash.
