Health unit seeks large dog after bite incident in Sarnia

Lambton Public Health is looking for a large dog after a person was bit in Sarnia's southeast end Monday night.

The health unit said the dog, described as a large Cane Corso with short, light-brown fur, was being walked outside Vidal Variety at around 9:30 p.m. when the incident occurred.

The owner of the dog is a woman with black hair, believed to be between the ages of 30 and 40. She was seen wearing a black hat, black jacket and jeans.

Anyone with information about the location of the dog and its owner is asked to contact Lambton Public Health at 519-383-8331 ext. 3533 or toll-free 1-800-667-1839.

The health unit said if the dog is not located and the health status of the animal verified, the victim will need to receive post exposure rabies shots.
