Boat dives into ditch

Lambton OPP are reminding motorists to secure their load when travelling.

On Sunday, at around 7 p.m. police were notified about a motorboat just off Highway 40 between Confederation Street and Plank Road.

The vessel was removed at around 10:30 p.m.

Officers were able to locate the owner of the boat.

A 23-year-old Sarnia man is charged with having an insecure load under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police said an insecure load poses a huge safety risk to motorists and pedestrians on the road. Anyone hauling cargo has the responsibility to ensure it's properly secured in the vehicle or trailer.
