Planned shutdown at Cabot

A site wide shutdown begins Monday at Cabot Canada.

The Tashmoo Avenue facility is undergoing planned maintenance.

Cabot said residents in the area may notice increased noise, venting, and traffic while work is completed.

The plant, built in 1953, produces carbon blacks for elastomer reinforcement used in tires and automotive and non-automotive industrial rubber products.

The shutdown is expected to wrap up on Thursday, June 8.
