Sarnia's Walk for Alzheimer’s surpasses last year's fundraising total

Organizers are "thrilled" after this year's IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s event, held along Sarnia's waterfront, raised over $75,000.

The annual event was held on Sunday, May 28.

Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton Manager of Fund Development and Communications Marie Marcy-Smids said about 300 people pre-registered but after accounting for on-site registrations, there were more than 340 walkers.

The amount raised this year surpassed last year's total of over $55,000.

Between both walks in Sarnia and Petrolia, over $84,000 was raised this year in support of local programs and services. This was the first year a Walk for Alzheimer's was held in Petrolia.
