St. Luke’s holds celebration service during Pride Month

St. Luke's United Church in Sarnia is marking the start of Pride Month with a special service and brunch on Sunday.

The Pride Celebration Service will be held on June 4 at 10:30 a.m.

In an email, Office Administrator Pauline Henderson-Ferguson said the all-ages service will include songs, discussions, and a guest speaker, Grace United Church Affirming Committee Chair Barb Baxter.

After the service, a brunch consisting of breakfast casseroles, muffins, fruit, and rainbow cake will be served.

Freewill offerings will be collected to cover costs and support future affirming events hosted by St. Luke's.

The United Church of Canada has committed to being an inclusive denomination.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
