'Snapshot' challenge issued to Warwick residents

Warwick Township has issued a "Snapshot" challenge to residents as part of recreation and parks month.

Economic Development and Communications Officer Stephanie Cattrysse said community members are being asked to visit predetermined park spaces - identified each week through the town's social media sites - and take a photo showing how they're using the green space.

"This week the challenge is for folks to go visit the Libro Community Garden [on Sunset Avenue in Watford] and the Memorial Park [across from the arena at 61 Centennial Avenue]," said Cattrysse. "So we're just asking people to take a picture while they're there and tag us on social media."

Participants can post their photos in the comment section on the "Snapshot” posts shared by the township online or photos can also be emailed to the Parks and Recreation Department.

"The hope is to encourage people to get outside and enjoy all of the great parks and facilities that we have throughout Warwick Township," she added.

Warwick's Parks and Recreation Department partners with the Watford / Warwick Horticulture Society to beautify its parks, and downtown Watford, with planter boxes and hanging baskets.

"They do a fantastic job beautifying our parks," Cattrysse said. "Getting all the weeds, planting our flowers and maintaining them throughout the three seasons."
