Police say drugs, weapons found during traffic stop

A 46-year-old Sarnia man faces drug and weapons charges after Lambton OPP pulled over a suspended driver on Oil Heritage Road.

Officers stopped the vehicle on May 30 at around 10:45 p.m., and allegedly observed infractions under the Cannabis Control Act, which resulted in a search.

Police said they found quantities of suspected methamphetamine, ecstasy, cannabis, and psilocybin along with a prohibited weapon and firearm.

Kevin Booth is facing the following charges:

- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking - Possession of a schedule one substance - Possession of a schedule three substance - Possession of a prohibited device - Failure to comply with release order (two counts) - Unauthorized possession of a firearm - Possession of over 30g dried cannabis in a public place - Driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available

He was being held in custody following a bail hearing on May 31.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
