Storms knock out power and bring down trees

Thursday's thunderstorms are to blame for several scattered power outages across Sarnia-Lambton.

Friday morning, Hydro One crews were working to restore power to customers in the St. Clair Township, Wyoming, Petrolia and Oil Springs areas.

The utility hoped to have power restored by 10 a.m.

Bluewater Power crews were also kept busy with power outages due to the stormy weather bringing down tree limbs on power lines and lightning. The utility had all power restored by 11:30 p.m.

In Sarnia, emergency crews were called after a large tree stuck by lightning fell on a home. City police said no injuries were reported.

Motorists are advised to watch for ponding on area roads.
