What's open/closed Canada Day weekend

Several people will have the day off work to celebrate the Canada Day long weekend.

A list of closures can be found below.

Canada Day, July 1

Sarnia Transit will offer free service on a modified holiday schedule.

Lambton County Library locations and book return bins will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Lambton Mall and most grocery stores and LCBO locations will be closed on Saturday.

Select Beer Store locations will be open. In Sarnia, the Beer Stores on Confederation Street and Maxwell Street will be open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

All banks are closed on Canada Day.

Monday, July 3

Municipal buildings, such as Sarnia City Hall, Sarnia Transit Offices, and the Strangway Centre will be closed Monday.

Transit buses will run on their normal summer schedule.

Garbage, recycling and large item collections will be normal.

Most banks and trust companies are closed,

Most stores, including Lambton Mall, will be open on Monday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
