Crash knocks out power in the Sombra area

A single-vehicle crash in the Sombra area caused a power outage and forced the closure of a section of St. Clair Parkway Wednesday afternoon.

First responders were called to the roadway between Forsyth Street and George Street at around 2 p.m. -- the area was closed until about 9 p.m.

Lambton OPP said the driver and lone occupant was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No charges have been laid but police said that could change pending further investigation.

Hydro One also responded to area to make repairs and restore power.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
