'Car-B-Que' raises over $26K for hospice

A recent fundraiser involving classic cars and a barbeque raised $26,882 for St. Joseph's Hospice.

The Car B-Que was held on July 23.

The event was organized by Rick Martens as a way of thanking those who cared for his mother during her final hours in hospice.

According to a Facebook post, over 300 cars attended the event.

"It took a lot of time and planning but we are confident next years event will be bigger and better," said Martens in the post.

St. Joseph's Hospice provides compassionate care to those who are terminally ill and supports those affected by the loss of a loved one. The organization is not fully funded and relies on donations to provide more than half of its total budget.
