Arson charges laid against Lambton Shores man

A 25-year-old man, accused of setting a couple of fires in Lambton Shores, has been arrested.

First responders were called to a suspicious blaze on Knight Road on July 23.

Lambton OPP said the fire was deliberately set and was similar to one that occurred at a nearby home in June.

OPP and the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office launched a joint investigation into the matter.

On Monday, officers arrested a suspect and the Lambton Shores resident was later charged with two counts of arson.

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing.

Provincial police are asking residents in Lambton Shores to contact police if they see suspicious activity on or near their property. Residents are also advised to contact their local fire department if they observe a suspicious fire.
