Police seek suspect in attempted robbery

Sarnia police are asking the public for help regarding an attempted robbery in Sherwood Village Park.

Police said, around 6:15 p.m. on Friday, a woman was walking her dog in the park near Oaklea Court when she was attacked by a stranger.

"This individual assaulted the female and threw her to the ground while attempting to remove her purse from her," police said.

The woman was transported to hospital to be treated for her injuries. She has since been discharged.

Police are asking for any video surveillance that people may have that capture the access points to Sherwood Village Park or that capture images within the park itself.
