Registration is underway for a Youth Engagement Summit (#YES) in Petrolia this fall.
The town's Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is inviting youth ages 12 to 18 to attend the event on October 14.
Co-Chair Ava Horwood said they hope to have 100 Petrolia area youth attend #YES Day.
"The Youth Engagement Summit is going to have a wide variety of workshops, guest speakers and activities that promote leadership and collaboration in youth specifically," said Horwood.
She said it should be a lot of fun.
"This summit is a way for the youth to get to know each other and also get to know what's out there, like the Petrolia youth committee. We'll also have workshops that target organizations in Petrolia for them to get involved with and open their eyes to what is out there," said Horwood.
She said the advisory committee is new to Petrolia.
"We had our first meeting in May and we hope to inspire more youth to get involved with committees in the Town of Petrolia, or even schools like LCCVI or elementary schools," she said.
