Daytime break and enter suspect arrested

A Sarnia man has been arrested in connection with a daytime break and enter in the city's north end Wednesday.

Sarnia police were called at around 4:30 p.m. to a home in the Cathcart Boulevard and Colborne Road area, after the homeowner returned to find several items had been stolen including a pellet gun and fishing rods.

Police said a person of interest was identified, however officers were not immediately able to confirm that person was responsible.

At 11:30 p.m., while investigating an unrelated trespassing call, officers allege the accused was in possession of items taken from the earlier break and enter. The accused was arrested at which time officers allegedly found a concealed knife.

The 28-year-old is charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm as well as possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and breach of probation.

He was being held on bail.
