The Sarnia Sting will play a pre-season game at Pat Stapleton Arena this September as part of the club's 30th anniversary celebration.
The site, formerly known as the Brock Street Barn, was the original home of the Sting when the team relocated from Newmarket to Sarnia in 1994. The hockey club will return to 134 Brock Street September 20 against the visiting Windsor Spitfires.
In a media release, the hockey club said tickets for the game are general admission with seat selection to be first come first serve. Season ticket holders will be given priority access to tickets until August 28.
The team said in addition to the throwback game, Sting fans can also look forward to additional 30th season themed celebrations and specialty items. This includes the Sting donning throwback jerseys during warmups for all games this upcoming season.
The club added that the Sarnia Sting Hall of Fame will begin to take shape this season, and the team will announce its latest induction class in a specialty game in early 2024.
