Man stabbed with sword in Sarnia hospital

Sarnia police are investigating a stabbing early Saturday morning.

City police were called to a disturbance at a residence on Murphy Road near Wiltshire Drive at around 1 a.m. Police allege a heated dispute had turned into a physical altercation between two male roommates, and one man stabbed the other with a sword in the chest.

Kole Ryan, 29, of Sarnia was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon. He's been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old victim was taken to Bluewater Health and is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. Police said in a news release that the stab wound narrowly missed the victims vital organs, and he is in intensive care.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
