A heavy police presence east of Arkona Wednesday night was the result of an investigation regarding a stolen vehicle.
OPP West Region posted an advisory just after 8 p.m. saying an investigation was being conducted in the area of Kerwood and Ausable Roads.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area.
In an updated social media post Thursday morning, OPP said officers "stood down late last night after attempting to locate an individual involved with an abandoned stolen vehicle."
Police said there is no concern for public safety at this time and members of the OPP Crime Unit were taking over the investigation.
