Indigenous space at Lambton College among September building permits

Plans for an Indigenous Gathering Space at Lambton College significantly boosted last month's building permits in Sarnia.

A permit valued at just over $3.4 million was issued in September for construction of the building, which was announced in July 2022, to be built on the south end of the campus. It's hoped the facility will open in the fall of 2024.

A total of 41 permits were issued last month for a nine month total of 360, worth just over $70.1 million.

City hall also issued a $1.85 million permit for an addition and interior renovations to a medical centre on London Line, and a $450,000 permit for interior improvements for a new veterinary clinic on Lakeshore Road near Murphy Road.

There were three permits issued for single-family dwellings in September for a year-to-date total of 21.
