Brad Loosley is back on the job.
Effective immediately, the Petrolia mayor has returned to his seat as head of town council and resumed his mayoral duties.
Deputy Mayor Joel Field has been filling in temporarily since Loosley went on approved leave on April 11, which was then extended on June 12.
"It was an honour to fill the seat of Mayor Loosley while he was away and to spend time with residents and county council on his behalf," said Field in a news release. "I am very glad to see him return to the head of council and look forward to working alongside him and council as we continue to do great things for Petrolia.”
Loosley said he is looking forward to getting back to work.
“I’d also like to thank Joel for taking care of my work while I was away, and to Council for their understanding and support and to our residents for their kindness, patience and understanding," said Loosley in a news release.
Mayor Loosley returns in time to preside over his first town council meeting on November 14, 2023 at Victoria Hall.
