Data connected to hospital cyberattack published

Data hacked in a recent cyberattack impacting area hospitals has been published.

A joint update from Bluewater Health, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Erie Shores HealthCare, Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and Windsor Regional Hospital, said they're reviewing the data to determine its contents.

In the breach at a shared service provider, TransForm Shared Service Organization, patient, employee and professional staff data was taken.

An investigation into the cyberattack continues by several law enforcement agencies, including INTERPOL and the F.B.I.

Meanwhile, the hospitals say work to restore impacted systems continues around the clock and it's hoped further updates regarding full restoration will be made in the coming days.

Local hospitals will continue to contact patients if an appointment or procedure needs to be rescheduled.

Residents are encouraged to visit their primary care physician or a local clinic whenever possible.
