Sacred Heart students support local charities

Students at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Sarnia have donated socks and non-perishable food items to two local charitable organizations.

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board said students recently collected 690 pairs of socks during "Socktober" and donated them to the Inn of the Good Shepherd.

Students also donated 350 non-perishable food items to St. Vincent de Paul Society through a special Halloween event.

“Our Halloween dance for canned goods has become an annual event,” said Acting Principal Brendan Deery. “A special thank you to Miss Stickley’s class for counting all the non-perishable food items; and Mrs. Shortt’s class for their work in organizing the sock drive. Way to go 49ers!”
