OPP Canine Unit helps locate suspect in early morning search

A man is facing charges after police responded to a vehicle on the side of the road early Thursday morning.

Sarnia police were called to the area of 1616 Blackwell Road at around 3 a.m. for a man stopped on the side of the road in a truck.

In a post on social media, police allege the male suspect took off into the bush when they arrived.

It was determined the truck was stolen and officers contained the area. With help from the Lambton OPP Canine Unit the suspect was located.

He's charged with one count of theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of breach and trespass by night.  He was held pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
