Firefighters were called to a house fire on Napier Street between Exmouth and Nelson Streets before 8 a.m.
Further details regarding the blaze, including cause, were not immediately available.
Sarnia police also responded.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash confirmed they are aware of the criminal investigation, but said she couldn't provide much of a comment.
