UPDATE: Point Edward casino workers ratify new deal

A ratification meeting was held Monday for members of UNIFOR Local 444 who work at Starlight Casino Point Edward.

Workers voted 65.8 per cent in favour of a new deal.

They, along with employees at Gateway Casinos Sarnia, reached a tentative agreement on Saturday, November 11.

Few details of the agreement were released.

"Improvements were made in most areas of the agreement, including wages, benefits, and language improvements," read a Local 444 Facebook post. "A healthy deal that places our member's pay and benefits in line with other Gateway Properties."

It's not known when the Sarnia casino members will discuss the agreement.
