City police responded to a single vehicle crash in the area of Kimball Road and Plank Road at around 11 p.m.

It's alleged the 39-year-old man fled the scene, but he was located shortly after with the assistance of the OPP canine unit and arrested.

Police said he provided breath samples that were twice the legal limit. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Sarnia court December 20.

The Sarnia Police Service said it responds to reports of impaired driving with immediate priority. Call 911 if you see or know of anyone driving while impaired, to keep our community safe.
