Local health project results to be released

The results from the Sarnia Area Environmental Health Project are expected to be released Wednesday.

The final results will be shown at an event in Point Edward, featuring presentations and discussion on the project, which will include the findings from a health risk assessment associated with exposures to air pollutants related to industrial facilities.

The project also looked at how industrial activities impact quality of life.

Other findings will include how other environmental stressors such as odour, noise and light impact quality of life for Sarnia residents.

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks originally brought the idea to Sarnia's City Council in 2019, but it has been working closely with other governments, health agencies and First Nations since 2017.
