Female injured in Sarnia stabbing

Sarnia police is investigating a stabbing as an intimate partner violence investigation.

Police said Friday afternoon that a female victim sustained a significant wound to her forehead early Friday morning, and subsequent wounds to her eyebrow and hand.

Officers were called around 1 a.m. to a central Sarnia home.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death.

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing Friday.

Police said due to the sensitive nature of the incident involving intimate partner violence the name of the woman arrested will not be released.

Details about the time and where the incident happened in the city were not immediately available.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
