Knife wielding suspect arrested at Christmas in the Village

Lambton OPP arrested an alleged 'grinch' during Christmas in the Village festivities in Point Edward.

Officers were notified of an individual armed with a bat and a knife allegedly chasing kids in the area of Monk Street at around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Police said one person was taken into custody without issue.

A 63-year-old Point Edward resident has been charged with assault with a weapon.

They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Sarnia court at a later date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
