Unlicenced motorist accused of impaired driving

A 28-year-old Sarnia woman is accused of driving while impaired, and possessing drugs, after Middlesex OPP stopped a vehicle on Highway 401 in Thames Centre.

OPP said a suspicious vehicle was stopped at 2:30 a.m. on December 9.

The driver was arrested and taken to the Middlesex County OPP detachment centre for tests to be administered by a drug recognition expert.

The accused was charged with the following:

- Operation while impaired - drugs

- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (other than heroin)

- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine

- Drive motor vehicle - no licence

She has a court date scheduled for January 19, 2024.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
