Fewer building permits issued in November

Construction activity slowed down in Sarnia last month.

A total of 31 building permits were issued in November, down from 56 the month before.

Last month's permits, valued at over $17.7 million, bring the year-to-date total to just over $103 million.

The monthly statistics include a $4.8 million permit issued to Kemco Engineering Inc for construction of a new office/shop building on Confederation Line.

A $1.4 million permit was issued to Paladin Technologies Inc. on Christina Street for the installation of a new mag lock, and replacement of power supplies for 27 existing mag locks.

There were six permits issued for single-family dwellings in November, bringing the year-to-date total for new homes to 32.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
