Development charges community input timeline to be debated again

Sarnia council meets in special session at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Councillor Adam Kilner has submitted a motion asking the group to reconsider its decision to extend community input for the draft development charges bylaw to March 31, 2024.

Council was already asked to reconsider the decision at the December 11 meeting, but decided to maintain the timeline granted in November.

Kilner is asking council to eliminate its decision and proceed with the statutory public meeting and consideration of the development charges bylaw at the regular meeting January 15.

The current bylaw expires December 31.
