Sting snap losing streak with 3-1 road win over Mississauga

The Sarnia Sting (16-23-2-0) snapped a three game losing streak on Sunday with a 3-1 victory over the Steelheads in Mississauga (21-17-2-0).

Goalie Nick Surzycia stopped 33 of 34 shots in the win and was named first star of the game.

Lukas Fisher, Nathan Omeri and Ryan Brown all scored for the Sting who were outshot 34-23.

Jack Van Volsen scored the lone goal for the Steelheads.

Sarnia is in Erie Monday afternoon to face the Otters.

Due to travel conditions on Sunday, the puck drop was moved from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
