Sarnia Jail (BlackburnNews.com file photo)The Ministry of the Solicitor General has announced an inquest into the death of a 31-year-old man who died while in custody at the Sarnia Jail in 2020.
Travis Havers died on December 5, 2020.
An inquest, which is mandatory under the Coroners Act, will examine the circumstances of his death.
"The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths," read a news release.
Details about when and where the inquest will take place are expected to be announced at a later date.
Police said on May 15, at approximately 1:10 a.m., the pair entered the establishment and stole an undetermined amount of goods.
The Sarnia Sting have traded forward Liam Beamish to the Erie Otters for a 5th round pick in 2027 and a 3rd rounder in 2028.
The school, on Oil Heritage Road in Petrolia, was awarded a $150,000 grant in 2025 from the Jays Care Foundation and TD to build it.

The Sarnia Community Foundation has doled out six grants, totaling $29,250, to support projects and initiatives within Lambton County.
The full lineup was released Tuesday ahead of the opening of registration June 16 at 9 a.m.
