Lambton County Museums and Archives are looking to showcase Lambton hockey.
They are asking the community to share their hockey stories, photos, and objects, specifically stories related to playing or watching the sport in the region.
Archivist Nicole Aszalos said the county has had many players make it a professional career.
"We're looking to learn a bit more about stories of when they started or playing and experiences playing throughout there and capture these memorable moments before they're really lost to time," she said.
For the archives hockey stories and photos are being accepted but the museum is also looking for people to lend hockey skates, sticks, jerseys and trophies or medals for an upcoming exhibit.
They must be in good condition but some use is to be expected and it must have a tie to Lambton County.
The memorabilia may be used during the Hockey exhibit which will be at the Lambton Heritage Museum from July to October.
Aszalos also said one of the main reasons why they are doing this is because there has been an interest.
"Every piece of it is a part of a story. Every little bit matters so, we do notice in the archives we don't have a huge collection pertaining to hockey so, we are hoping to build this part of the story," she said.
Aszalos added that in these stories are people that grew up in the community and these stories are not just about the team but also the people within them.
The archives and museum started accepting stories and photos on Thursday and they can be submitted online until February 29.
The Archives also said it can assist with any digitalization of materials for the project.
