Home invasion reported on London Line

Sarnia police are investigating an early morning home invasion at Bluewater Motel.

City police were called to the London Line establishment at 5:50 a.m.

The investigation "is still unfolding" but police said the initial information is that a motel room was forcibly entered and the occupants were held for a short period of time against their will.

Police said there are no known injuries to the victims.

Deputy Chief of Police Julie Craddock had previously told Sarnia News Today that there is a large police presence in the area but there is no ongoing or active public safety situation.

However, residents are still asked to avoid the area as police are still gathering evidence and searching for the suspects. Police expect to be in the area for several hours.

Investigators are reviewing video evidence and suspect descriptions will be released to the public once they're available.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the SPS Criminal Investigations Division at 519-344-8861 or Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
