Firefighters along with Lambton OPP responded to a blaze at about 5:30 a.m. in the area of Exmouth Street and Harbour Road.
When crews arrived on scene, they located a temporary shelter on a private property on fire.
In a post to social media, Point Edward Fire and Rescue said the occupants did not know how the fire started.
No injuries were reported.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
