Sarnia resident charged in intimate partner violence investigation

A 23-year-old from Sarnia has been charged following an intimate partner violence investigation in South Huron.

Huron OPP responded to a dispute call last Tuesday, January 16.

Police allege the individual had committed several offences against their partner.

The accused was arrested on Friday and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and mischief.

They were later released and are scheduled to appear in Goderich Court on March 25.

Police are reminding victims of intimate partner violence they are not alone.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
