New executives to be elected for Sarnia-Lambton NDP

The Sarnia-Lambton New Democratic Party (NDP) Electoral District Association will hold its annual general meeting virtually on Thursday, February 8.

A new local executive team will be elected for 2024.

NDP members in good standing may vote or put their name forward for election.

The positions of president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and two members at large are available.

Those planning to attend the meeting at 6 p.m. are asked to RSVP.

Lo-Anne Chan has been nominated as the local candidate for the next federal election.

Chan, a local entrepreneur, told Sarnia News Today she will be focused on interacting with the community this year, so people get to know her.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
